Although the exact origins of this cat are unknown it is believed to be descendant of the holy temple cats of Siam, which we now know as Thailand. The Thai name for the Siamese is Wichien-maat which translates into English as 'moon diamond'. A very pretty name for a beautiful feline! In a panic it ran through the streets and set many buildings alight and caused the town to burn down.
